Redskins mid-training camp 2018 schedule prediction
Game 8 – Washington Redskins at New York Giants
The Redskins head to MetLife stadium in another division matchup against the New York Giants in Week 8. For the Giants, all the hype during this game, and for the entire season, will be centered about Saquon Barkley. The world will be eagerly watching every move the running back makes.
Unfortunately for the Giants, Barkley won’t be enough to turn around their horrible 2017 season. They have a tough schedule and their record won’t change that dramatically. They do have the firepower to potentially be dangerous, but the downfall of their season will be due to Eli Manning.
Manning has been nothing short of horrible for the past two seasons. All Manning has demonstrated is that he’s clearly out of his prime and going downhill fast. Manning himself will be the reason why the Giants lose to the Redskins in Week 8.
The Redskins secondary will have a field day against Manning and the passing game. The matchup between Odell Beckham Jr. and Josh Norman will of course be intriguing and I’m hopeful for another wrestling match.
Barkley will have a good performance against the Redskins. He will make the game competitive for the first three quarters, but Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne, the Alabama tandem, will come up clutch and shut it down in the fourth quarter. I see Barkley as more effective in the passing game in this matchup than on the ground. The Giants’ offensive line has been awful and they haven’t done that much to change the situation.
Gruden and all facets of the offense should have a field day against the Giants poor defense. This game will seem closer than it actually is. This is another must-win for Washington, since the Atlanta Falcons will be heading to D.C. the following week.
