Week 3 – Green Bay Packers at Washington Redskins

Green Bay will be the Redskins first test of the season. Aaron Rodgers is healthy and more than determined than ever.

It’s hard to see any major holes in this Packers team. Their defense is young, but talented. Their offensive will always be explosive as long as Rodgers is under center. The addition of Jimmy Graham will replace the red zone productivity of Jordy Nelson, who was released by the Packers back in March. Letting go of their star’s best friend was a very risky move by Green Bay.  Fortunately for Rodgers, Davante Adams is waiting with open arms to be his new bestie.

The first two games of the season for the Packers are against the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings. I predict one of these games will be a loss, which will give the Packers even more motivation to come out of Washington with a win.

I assume that this will be a high-scoring affair. Smith and the passing game will be able to establish success throughout the contest, and ultimately, it will come down to a defensive stop to win the game. This is where I see the Redskins’ young roster wavering for the first time.

The Redskins will show that they can hang with the best of the league, but will ultimately come up a little short. Green Bay will get the stop that they need. Rodgers will be Rodgers and lead the team down within two minutes to set up a game-winning field goal.

I would love the Redskins to remember what happened to them in the 2016 playoffs against the Packers, but in this case it won’t help. Washington will lose in a close one.

Final Score: WAS 31, GB 34

Record: 2-1
