DE Anthony Lanier

Anthony Lanier was quietly a solid pass rushing presence late last season. He had 5.0 sacks in the last seven games and also had six pass deflections and a forced fumble. He played so well that I feel as if he’s virtually a roster lock, something that can’t be said about McGee and Hood.

2018 Stat Predictions:  20 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 6 sacks, 1 forced fumbles

DE Stacy McGee

Stacy McGee played as consistent as anybody along the defensive line in 2017. He may not have provided much as a pass rusher, but he was the team’s most consistent run defender. With his ability to stuff the run, I’d expect he’d get a respectable amount of playing time while the Redskins try to rebound from a last place run defense.

2018 Stat Predictions:  28 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 1 sack

DE Ziggy Hood

Ziggy Hood is the wild card of this defensive line group. He’s versatile enough to play defensive end or nose tackle. He was the Redskins’ fallback plan at nose tackle and was forced to play it last season even though it’s not his natural position. After the acquisition of the Redskins’ recent draft class, Hood will get a chance at playing his original position, as long he can make the final 53.

2018 Stat Predictions:  15 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack
