S D.J. Swearinger

The Redskins best offseason addition from last season, D.J. Swearinger had an excellent first season in the burgundy and gold, and I only expect him to improve. The defensive captain brings energy and emotion to a defense that was rather lackluster before his arrival. His skill set was desperately needed, as the Redskins haven’t had a good starting safety in nearly a decade. Swearinger and Nicholson could prove to be one of the better safety duos in the NFL.

While he may not fill up the stat sheet in one single category, you can expect Swearinger to have numbers all along the line. He’ll produce good tackle numbers, intercept a few passes, sack the quarterback once or twice, and even knock out a few balls. He’s an all-around safety who does well in all aspects of the game.

2018 Stat Predictions:  68 tackles, 4 interceptions, 14 pass deflections, 2 forced fumbles, 1 sack
