player. 49. . Defensive Back. Alabama. Minkah Fitzpatrick. 14

Packers fans will love this pick.

The Green Bay Packers cam into the 2018 offseason already needing defensive backs. Now, with the offshoring of former first-round pick Damarious Randall to Cleveland, the need is even greater. Thus, picking Minkah Fitzpatrick at No. 14 in the NFL Draft makes perfect sense, as long at the cards play out in their favor.

Fitzpatrick, like Derwin James, is a versatile defender who flies around the field. He produced plentifully for the Alabama Crimson Tide, and he is almost sure to be the next player in a long line of successful Alabama defenders in the NFL.

Fitzpatrick is not as athletic as James, but he brings a high-pace game to whatever defense he joins, and in the Packers’ secondary, he could find that there is a suitable niche for him. One that he can thrive in.
