Cravens’ road back to the Washington Redskins – or any team for that matter – starts with a demonstration of both contrition and redemption for the errors of his past.

Even if he can return, Cravens’ future in Washington may have been a die that had already been cast back in September of 2017. Contributing to that possibility are some on-field issues like his passion to the play the game that linebacker Will Compton questioned during training camp last year.

Still, Cravens’s value is the skillset he offers a porous Redskins defense. And if he stays in Washington, this will undoubtedly play a prominent factor in the team’s decision to keep him. This, of course, is hardly ideal, but is a testament to the fact that the beggardly Redskins can’t also be choosers.
