1. Ryan Kerrigan records three sacks to set career high for a single season

This would be a major feat for Ryan Kerrigan. Coming into 2017, his goal was to record double digit sacks in a season for the first time in his career. He checked that off last week by notching two sacks to bring his season total to 11. Now, he is within reach of his career high in total sacks.

Kerrigan recorded 13.5 sacks back in 2014, so it would take three sacks in the season finale to break that number. However, that may be doable against the Giants.

In Week 12, the last time the Giants and the Redskins squared off, Kerrigan had two sacks against the Giants poor offensive line. He was able to dominate undrafted rookie Chad Wheeler at right tackle and that could happen again on Sunday.

This time around, things are even worse for the Giants tackles. Wheeler figures to draw the start left tackle because the team benched Ereck Flowers for being “checked out.” Additionally, the team released backup right tackle Bobby Hart for saying he wouldn’t play in the finale. So, the only other options to start at tackle are rookie Adam Bisnowaty and journeyman Nick Becton. Both were just added from the practice squad. Because of this, the Giants are going to be giving up a lot of pressure and that could cause a lot of problems.

With the game meaning relatively little for the Redskins, they may just turn Kerrigan loose to try and get to 14. For this reason, expect him to put up some big numbers as he makes his 112th start in a row, and three sacks are certainly not out of the question.
