2. Kapri Bibbs scores two touchdowns to secure an offseason roster spot

In two games on the Redskins roster, Kapri Bibbs has been a solid performer. He took over in the Chris Thompson role after spending merely a week on the practice squad, and he has been a capable pass catcher. In his first game, he turned a 36-yard screen pass into a touchdown by patiently waiting for his blocks to develop. Against the Giants, he could see similar success.

With the Giants defense completely decimated by injuries and suspensions, Bibbs will be hard to keep track of coming out of the backfield. He will probably split snaps with Samaje Perine, though Bibbs will continue to play more on third downs than any other time.

Thus far in Bibbs’ Redskins career, he 16 touches for 107 scrimmage yards and the aforementioned touchdown. In this game, he could be a red zone threat out of the backfield. The Giants defense will likely be preoccupied with trying to get their defensive backs set to cover the Redskins receivers and tight ends. That could allow Bibbs to come out of the backfield and have easy catches that he can turn into bigger gains and possible scores. If he can do that, he will probably find himself a spot on the Redskins offseason 90-man roster.

We’ll be optimistic and hopefully we will see Bibbs rack up a couple of scores on Sunday. That would triple his season total for touchdowns and allow him to find a spot somewhere in 20118, whether or not it’s with the Redskins. Bibbs is a talented player and a hard worker. Hopefully it pays off once again.
