The Washington Redskins 2017 season will come to a close on Sunday afternoon when they take on the New York Giants. Here’s a preview for the 2017 finale.

The end is near for the 2017 season. In just a matter of days, the Washington Redskins will play the final 60 minutes of football for the 2017 campaign. It’s still a harsh reality for Redskins fans to face. For the second straight season, the team won’t be in the playoffs. And worst of all, Redskins football won’t return to the field until August 2018 when the preseason begins.

While this season hasn’t gone as the Redskins had planned, there is still a lot of reason to have interest in Sunday’s game. For one, the team can win to finish with a .500 record on the season. That would give the Redskins three straight seasons of playing .500 or better ball, so that would be good news for a franchise that has endured a lot of losing seasons over the past 15 years.

At the same time, a win on Sunday would have a big impact on the Redskins draft slot. The team is currently locked into the No. 15 slot, but a win could move them down a few spots. Conversely, a loss would have minimal positive effect on positioning, but it’s possible that they could move up a spot or two. The different between the No. 13 pick and No. 15 is minimal, but moving into the early 20s could hurt the value of the pick.

No matter what happens, Sunday’s game will bear meaning of some sort. It could offer hope. It could offer a future for the team. And, of course, it could be Kirk Cousins‘ last game with the Redskins. With all that said, here’s a look at an in-depth preview for the final battle of the 2017 season against the hapless Giants.
