1. Von Miller vs. Ty Nsekhe

Von Miller has to be both a bit excited and a bit disappointed heading into this matchup. Miller is a big fan of Trent Williams and called him one of the toughest players he’s ever faced. Sunday normally would have been his chance to try and get the best of him. However, it appears that Williams is done for the season barring an emergency situation. So, Miller will get to take on his backup.

Ty Nsekhe has had an inconsistent year. At the beginning, he was banged up and his performance in the first few contests was mediocre. Then, he went down with a core muscle injury and missed a good deal of time. Now, he’s back and playing at a solid level. Still, it’s going to be hard for him to matchup with Miller.

Miller is simply one of the best pass rushers in the league. He has a plethora of moves to get into the backfield and his athletic ability is off the charts. It will be key for the Broncos to get pressure on Kirk Cousins in this game, so Miller will try and be at his best. It doesn’t matter that the Broncos aren’t a playoff team. They are still dangerous.

Jay Gruden has to consider giving Nsekhe a little bit of blocking help in the event that he struggles. Vernon Davis and Niles Paul could chip Miller consistently if the protection doesn’t hold up early on. The winner of this matchup seems likely to come out on top in this Week 16 clash between the Broncos and the Redskins.
