Score Prediction
I know that this is another underdog game for the Redskins. I know that they have surprised in the past. But on paper, this matchup doesn’t favor them in many, if any, aspects of the game.
The only area where Washington might find some space on offense is with their tight ends. Even still, the New Orleans secondary has been a good tackling unit, so the gains should be limited. It’s hard to imagine a scenario where the Redskins are able to score more than 24 points. And that doesn’t seem like enough to beat the Saints.
New Orleans’ offense is just too good. The running game will be able to carry them and wear down the physically worn out Redskins defense. And if Washington tries to sell out and stop the run, that will open up the field for Brees to make plays downfield.
Next: Vernon Davis should be top TE over Jordan Reed
At the end of the day, this looks like another loss for the Redskins. We’ve been wrong in the past, but the Saints really should knock off the Redskins this week.
