3. Receivers must make some big plays

The weakness of the Eagles comes at the cornerback position. While they are likely to get Ronald Darby back from injury this week, they are still lacking consistent cornerback play and the Redskins must try to exploit that.

So far this season, the Redskins have been unable to find a solid No. 1 receiver. Much of their success has come from Kirk Cousins spreading the ball around. While that is great for him to be able to do, the team has to find a consistent top option. Against the Eagles, their players will have a chance to break out.

Terrelle Pryor and Josh Doctson are going to be the guys with a big chance to make a difference. Both have excellent height and very good athleticism. Pryor has struggled this season to find chemistry with Cousins, but he performed well in the Week 1 battle with the Eagles. Though he suffered a couple of drops, he was able to find open space on the field and really had one of his most consistent games that week. If he can get going early, he could beat the opposing defensive backs on the Eagles, and that would be good news for the team.

Meanwhile, Doctson has shown flashes of brilliance at points, but continues to overshadow that potential with key drops and injuries. He needs to have a breakout game at some point, and this is a good time for him to do so. Jay Gruden seems to be ready to hand him a bigger role in the offense, so he could be a major downfield threat for the Redskins.

Should either Doctson or Pryor get going, the team will have a chance to keep pace with the Eagles as they look to improve to 4-2. If this game turns into a shootout, Cousins is going to have to be able to trust his receivers. Instilling confidence in this duo early could help get the job done.
