Overall

There’s a lot going into this game that is working for the Redskins. It is an opportunity for a revenge game. They lost to the Eagles in the first week of the season and they’ll want to get back at their rivals. Additionally, a win would put the Redskins only a half game back of the Eagles in the race for the divisional crown. So that would be a major accomplishment for the team.

At the same time, the Redskins have some glaring weaknesses that the Eagles will be able to exploit. Their defense is missing some of their key players. The team has a rookie kicker who has never played in an NFL contest. And the Eagles run defense will have a shot to bottle up Kelley and Thompson for another week.

The only way the Redskins will have a chance to win is if they can match the Eagles passing attack blow for blow. Cousins will have to be at his best and while that’s possible, it still may not be enough as the Redskins look to notch their fourth win.

With all that said, it’s hard to see the Redskins coming in to Philly and winning. The primetime game will prove to be a bit too much and the Eagles will continue their rise to the top of the NFC. It will be a close one, but ultimately, the Eagles will prevail.

Score Prediction: Eagles 27, Redskins 23
