Interviewing the Enemy: 5 Questions with Just Blog Baby
Offensive Questions
Riggo’s Rag: Do you think Derek Carr will live up to his $125 million contract?
Just Blog Baby: Carr will definitely live up to the $125 million contract he signed this offseason. The Raiders organization knows that Carr is the team’s present and future. You can’t put a price on having a perennial Pro Bowl quarterback to lead your team on fall Sundays. The Raiders expect great things from him in Oakland and in Las Vegas. It took a decade to replace Rich Gannon. I think the Raiders are very happy with Carr and can’t wait to see him enter his prime under this new contract.
RR: How has Marshawn Lynch looked in his first season with the Raiders?

JBB: Lynch has been surprisingly strong in the first two games. He doesn’t look like a guy that took a year off from football. While offensive coordinator Todd Downing isn’t using him as a bell-cow in all four quarters, Lynch’s punishing running style has elevated the Raiders’ ground game entirely. Jalen Richard had a great game versus the Jets last week. It’ll be interesting to see how long Lynch will be able to run this effectively this season. He looks to be right at home playing for the Silver and Black.
RR: Which receiver will have a better matchup against the Redskins secondary, Amari Cooper or Michael Crabtree?
JBB: I anticipate Cooper to have the better game over Crabtree on Sunday night. Crabtree has been fantastic in the first two games of the season, but I’d expect Washington to try to take him out of the game. Preventing those short-to-medium passes to Crabtree could put more pressure on Carr to air it out in this one. Carr has been very accurate this season, but hasn’t looked to go vertical much this year. The AC/DC Connection (Carr to Cooper) on Sunday could change that.
