2017 NFL Mock Draft 4.0 – Final Draft Day Edition
17. Washington Redskins: DE Charles Harris, Missouri
As the hours tick on, it seems more and more likely that Charles Harris is going to be an option for the Redskins pick at No. 17 overall. This is actually good news for the Redskins fan base, as Harris is a bit similar to Ryan Kerrigan.
Neither Harris nor Kerrigan is an elite athlete, but they both offer strong work ethics and excellent technique. Harris could start across from Kerrigan and then Preston Smith and Trent Murphy could be used as primary backups. This would be great news for the team’s pass rush and it would help to further fortify their front seven.
18. Tennessee Titans: CB Marlon Humphrey, Alabama
One of the big needs that the Titans have on their team is at the No. 1 cornerback position. They elected to sign Logan Ryan in free agency, but he is best served as a No. 2 corner, given his lack of size and need for safety help on some receivers. The team also released Jason McCourtey recently, so they lack depth.
Humphrey was the star cornerback for Alabama over the course of the past couple seasons. He fared well in coverage against some of the SEC’s best, and for a while he was a potential top 10 pick. He has slid due to the rise of some other cornerbacks and the fact that this is generally a good cornerback draft. Still, he has the potential to be a No. 1 corner so he has good value at this juncture.
19. Seattle Seahawks (Trade Up From Buccaneers): OT Garett Bolles, Utah
The Seahawks are moving up in this mock draft. They have a great deal of interest in highly athletic left tackle prospect Garett Bolles, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are looking to move down. The Broncos are a logical team to try and take Bolles, so the Seahawks will need to jump up to grab him. Bolles could be their left tackle and it would allow them to use Luke Joeckel as an interior lineman. It would be a risk, but it may be worth it.
20. Denver Broncos: LB Jarrad Davis, Florida
The Broncos will be upset not to land an offensive lineman here, but I feel that it is too early for Ryan Ramczyk to come off the board. They have a need at the linebacker position, and Jarrad Davis may be the best option available. Davis has terrific instincts and tackling ability and would be an upgrade over Todd Davis for the strong Broncos defense.
