Washington Redskins 7-Round Mock Draft: The Final Countdown
Round 6, Pick 25
Will Pick and Should Pick: CB Jourdan Lewis, Michigan
Eight picks later, Lewis is still available. The Redskins decide to role with him much for the reasons I outlined in my early-April mock draft:
NFL Draft: Washington Redskins Top 5 First Round Options
"Lewis was outperformed by other corners at the Combine. He looked good, but he simply did not help his stock. Coupling that with the legal issues that he is currently going through, and he is likely to drop. Still, the Redskins could take a chance on him. If his issues are cleared up, then he could become a potential No. 2 corner down the road. At the worst, he is solid depth player. There is some risk with this pick, but the Redskins may decide to take a shot on him when it’s all said and done."
This is about as good of a high upside pick as can be made in the sixth round of a draft.
Dark Horse: DL Josh Tupou, Colorado
The Redskins still lack depth at the nose tackle position. They have showed interest in Josh Tupou, and may opt to take yet another Colorado product.
