Washington Redskins 7-Round Mock Draft: The Final Countdown
Round 7, Pick 17
Will Pick and Should Pick: DL Stevie Tu’ikolovatu, USC
The final pick for the Redskins is a tremendous value. Stevie Tu’ikolovatu could end up being a mid-round pick, but he falls due to the lack of value at the nose tackle position in this draft. “Stevie T” had a decent Senior Bowl and looks like a good run stuffer at the next level.
For the Redskins, he could function as a decent backup nose tackle and could even start if the team wanted to play McDowell at the 3-4 end. It may not be great for them, but Tu’ikolovatu offers some upside, which is all that teams can ask for in round seven.
Dark Horse: LB Ben Boulware, Clemson
Boulware is a try-hard player who lacks athleticism. The Redskins had some success developing a similar player in Will Compton. Maybe they will see some of the same traits of a great leader in Boulware.
