Oct 24, 2015; Louisville, KY, USA; Boston College Eagles quarterback Jeff Smith (5) scrambles away from Louisville Cardinals defensive end Sheldon Rankins (98) during the second half at Papa John /

8.  Sheldon Rankins, DT – Louisville: (6-2, 304) Projected Round – 2nd. Sheldon Rankins is flying up the board after a great showing at the senior bowl.  He has to the talent to be a great addition to the Washington Redskins.  He can play multiple positions along the defensive and is explosive off the ball.  The Redskins will need strong young presence added to the D-line this offseason and Sheldon Rankins could be that man.  LW #8

7.  Mackensie Alexander, CB – Clemson:  (5-10, 195) Projected Round – Top 25.  Likelihood on the Board when Redskins Pick – Good.  Cornerback Chris Culliver’s knee injury might cause him to not be ready at the opening of the season.  The Redskins still have Bashaud Breeland, Will Blackmon and late season surprise Quinton Dunbar returning in 2016.  However, Mackensie Alexander is considered to be one of the top cornerbacks in the draft.  There’s a good chance that he’ll be on the board when the Redskins pick and if he is they may have to take him.   LW # 6
