4. Running back

The Redskins will almost certainly  running back Alfred Morris in free agency. He will test the market and they won’t look to re-sign him unless he doesn’t find the right deal.  They might also lose fullback Darrel Young who is also an unrestricted free agent.

Running back Matt Jones does return in 2016.  The Redskins seem to believe that he has the talent to become a feature back on the offense.  However, Jones had trouble staying healthy last season and he also had a fumbling problem last season.

ALSO ON RIGGO’S RAG: Is Matt Jones ready to start at RB?

If Jones is to become the Redskins top running back those areas must improve. However even if they do improve the Redskins still need to add more depth at running back. The Redskins need a back who doesn’t necessarily have to carry the ball 20 times a game.

But they do need a back who can to combine with Jones and Chris Thompson to help the offense improve running the football.  Darrel Young was a very good lead blocker at fullback and he could also catch the football out of the backfield.

So if he isn’t to return the Redskins we need to try to find possibly an upgrade at the fullback position.
