Sanchez is certainly a capable cover man–and one of the best cornerbacks in the 2016 draft class in terms of ball skills. He’s a star at tracking the ball in the air and making plays, evidenced by his pile of deflections and interceptions during his days at Oklahoma. Unfortunately, his lack of size and thin frame will turn teams off from his long-term potential at the next level.

The Redskins will definitely need help, especially if they opt to cut the cord with Culliver and fail to re-sign Will Blackmon. Adding young bodies will be key to the Washington secondary improving, and drafting a talent like Sanchez will certainly be a step in the right direction. The potential boost in interceptions will be nice, too.

Cornerback, Oklahoma

There’s no denying that the Redskins need to address the cornerback situation this offseason. While the emergence of Bashaud Breeland as the No. 1 cornerback was a pleasant surprise, Chris Culliver failed to impress and the current depth isn’t too comforting. The Redskins need significant adjustments at the position moving forward, so drafting a young, capable cover man here is reasonable.
