Ohio State. Taylor Decker. 18. player. 46.
I think Ezekiel Elliott will be a serious consideration right here, especially with Frank Gore nearing the end of his honorable career. However, considering the way Andrew Luck was bruised and battered in 2015, it’s going to be difficult for the Colts to justify bolstering the running game this early (there are always capable runners in the later rounds) when they can add first-round talent to Luck’s protection.

Decker is an outstanding prospect at 6-7, 315 pounds, with the athleticism, power and aggressiveness to slide in at either tackle spot. Although there’s still work to be done with him as a run blocker, the potential is there for him to develop into one of the NFL’s most reliable blockers.

With Decker and Anthony Castonzo bookending the Colts’ offensive line while Jack Mewhort dominants the interior, Indianapolis would be a much better place when it comes to protecting their most valuable asset. If they want a bounce-back season from Luck, addressing the front five early would be a great start. Drafting Decker at No. 18 does exactly that.
. Offensive Tackle
