1.  Carson Wentz, QB

North Dakota State (North Team) -(6-6, 235) Projected Round– Top 15–Jersey #11

When it was still uncertain that Kirk Cousins was the quarterback of the future for the Washington Redskins, Carson Wentz was a player I was targeting for them in the second round area.  However, it seems he’ll be long off the board by then.

Wentz’s stock is blowing up and it appears as though he may be taken high in the first round.  He has prototypical size for a quarterback but he’s no statue in the pocket.  Wentz is a good athlete and can take off and run the ball when the need arises.  He also has a strong-arm and can make all the throws.

The only question for Wentz really is his level of competition.  He played in the FCS division at North Dakota State. And while he did play against some FBS opponents from time to time and had success, the Senior Bowl will give him a chance to show what he can do against some of the top defenders in college.

The Redskins more than likely won’t end up with Carson Wentz but one of the other teams in the NFC East could.  Namely the Cowboys or the Eagles.  So take a look at him as he could end up playing against the Skins soon.
