2. Redskins Cornerbacks vs. DeAndre Hopkins

With Andre Johnson no longer a Houston Texan, third-year veteran DeAndre Hopkins is now the number one wide receiver for the Texans.  Hopkins came up big against the Redskins last season, catching a 76 yard bomb against them last year.

So we know that Hopkins is a dangerous receiver.  However, I want to see how free agent signee Chris Culliver will fair going one on one vs. Hopkins.  It will be a match up number one receiver vs. number one cornerback.

Culliver is know for his ability in press coverage and Hopkins’ size (6’1, 218) will be a good challenge for not only Culliver but our other corners as well.  The Redskins have been hit hard with injuries to the cornerback position, so this will be a chance for others to make a name for themselves.

With the injuries to Bashaud Breeland and Tevin Mitchel, more time has gone to Justin Rogers as the third cornerback.  David Amerson has been slowed by injury also but the Redskins signed undrafted free agent Deshazor Everett to come in and compete.

It’s not known how much work if that much at all that DeAngelo Hall will get in these joint practices but after not playing most of last season, I’m sure there’s some rust that Hall needs to work off.  Going against a receiver with the size and speed of DeAndre Hopkins could help with that.
