Jackson Jeffcoat got a chance to play extended minutes after Murphy went down versus the Eagles. In 3+ quarters, Jeffcoat had a 0.82 rating against Philadelphia. His pass rush rating was 0.94 while his run defense was only 0.55.
Jeffcoat had his first sack versus the Eagles in the second quarter. He spent less time in coverage than Murphy did with 11 coverage plays opposed to 32 rush plays. That % decreased even more the following week versus Dallas when he rushed the QB 21 times and was in coverage for only 6 plays.

Jeffcoat got his first interception in week 17 versus Tony Romo. His rating of 0.90 was led by a 1.50 rating in coverage due to the INT. Jeffcoat improved versus the run with a 0.77 rating and had a 0.86 rating rushing the QB.
Jeffcoat is the son of former Cowboy’s DE, Jim Jeffcoat. He showed enough to deserve a shot at more playing time in 2015.
