Pierre Garcon, WR

Pierre Garcon’s 2014 season was a disappointment. His 68 receptions for only 752 yards was barely over half of the production he had in 2013. Garcon did not justify his $9.7 million cap cost in 2014 and will cost the Redskins the same amount in 2015.

Garcon needs to improve on his output to earn his salary. McCloughan may decide that the Redskins would be better served trading Garcon and getting younger at the position. McCloughan may also want to see what Garcon will do with more stability at the QB position.

Garcon has the second largest contract on the team after Trent Williams and just ahead of Jackson. When watching him play, he still appears to be the same receiver he was in 2013. He runs the tough routes needed to play opposite Jackson. My guess is that he will return in 2015 and have a much better year than he did in 2014.

In the game with Philadelphia, Garcon added to Jackson’s explosiveness with a good, consistent effort. He ended the game with a 1.07 rating to match Jackson. Against the Cowboys, Garcon had a 1.00 rating with a good effort in a blowout loss.
