This is the first Redskins Super Bowl team.  It was led by head coach George Allen, and featured 1972 NFL MVP running back Larry Brown, and hall of famers in linebacker Chris Hanburger, quarterback Sonny Jurgensen, and wide receiver Charley Taylor.

They lost in the Super Bowl to the Miami Dolphins, who went undefeated that season, and has since been the only team in NFL history to do so.  This Super Bowl is probably best known for the infamous interception thrown by Dolphins kicker Garo Yepremian, that the Redskins Mike Bass returned for a TD.
