Redskins owner Dan Snyder has spent a lot of money over the past 15 years that he has owned the team on coaches and big name free agent players. He would be better served by taking some of that money and directing it toward developing a top-notch scouting staff.

The free agent signings made by the team have had down seasons more often than not. Shawn Lauvao, Andre Roberts, Mike McGlynn and Ryan Clark have not been good returns on investments this season. McGlynn was even cut and plays for the Chiefs now.
Having better college and pro scouts will help avoid bringing in players that don’t live up to expectations. Building through the draft well will also alleviate the need to sign many of these free agents. A philosophy on the type of players that are brought in is very important.
