Establish Early Confidence in RGIII

Robert Griffin III returned against Minnesota after missing six weeks with a dislocated ankle. He played a solid game, outside of the fact that the Redskins failed to get the victory. The NFL is all about winning games, nothing else matters much.

Griffin did, however, have a few moments against the Vikings where the pep in his step was noticeable. He was decisive at times, and showed the ability to extend plays when needed.

He was 18 of 28 for 251 yards, one touchdown and one interception, and the Redskins’ offense was able to put up 26 points. But the defense didn’t help them out much to close the deal.

Jay Gruden has to call plays that will get Griffin into a rhythm early on, and allow him to get into a comfort zone. He seems to have the offense down, he just needs to show consistency throughout the full game.
