7. Brandon Meriweather suspended – The NFL suspended Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather after being flagged for two illegal hits against Chicago Bears receivers.  Meriweather appealed the ban, and it was reduced to one game instead of two.  The controversy around the suspension intensified when Meriweather stated that instead of hitting players high, he would go after their knees.
