6. Lovie Smith, former NFL head coach  –  Smith compiled an 81-63 record in nine seasons as head coach of the Chicago Bears, a 56% winning percentage.  He won three division titles, and took the Bears to Super Bowl XLI.  Smith was fired from the Bears after a 10-6 record in 2012.  But Smith is a proven winner and has won consistently in the NFL.  And he’s done it without having a great quarterback.  Smith would be one of the few retread candidates that brings a winning record to the table.
