2. Denzel Ward (Browns)

The Browns’ secondary as a whole is excellent and it all starts with Ward, who signed a deserved five-year, $100.5 million extension with $71.5 million guaranteed this offseason, making him the second-highest paid corner in the NFL.

Given Ward’s prowess in man coverage, he could be McLaurins’ toughest cornerback matchup when all is said and done. That’s a scary thought, as Cleveland visits Washington in the penultimate game of the regular season in Week 17; a game that could have colossal playoff implications.

Since he was drafted in 2018, Ward ranks second among cornerbacks in single coverage grade, according to PFF. The two-time Pro Bowler also ranks first with a 36% catch rate and second with 5.37 yards per target in the same category.

What Ward lacks in interception output (just 10 in four seasons), he more than makes up for in forced incompletions, as he has 50 passes defended while allowing just a 51.4% completion rate when targeted during that span.

Get your popcorn ready.
