The Washington Football Team’s season grows increasingly bleak with each passing week. So much so, that it’s tough to envision them accomplishing much of anything but maybe a high draft pick for 2022.
Washington sits at 2-4 through six games, and they’ll be hard-pressed to pick up win number three of the season this Sunday, as they’ll make the trek up to Lambeau Field to lock horns with Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.
The Packers might be the hottest team in the NFL. After dropping their Week 1 tilt in embarrassing fashion, they’ve rattled off five straight wins, in which they’ve outscored their opponents 141-98.
Seeing that Washington is a significant underdog — 7.5 points, per WynnBET — and is unlikely to win, fans might as well place a wager on the game to try and earn some extra walking around money, right?
With that in mind, here are three prop bets that’ve caught our eye. As always, all odds listed come courtesy of WynnBET.
3 best bets for Washington Football Team vs Green Bay Packers
3. Over 48 total points scored (-110)
You won’t find us picking the under in any Washington games this season. Unless, you know, the number is set at something ridiculous. We lost some money in Week 6 betting the over, but who could have predicted Taylor Heinicke and the offense being rendered useless against the Chiefs’ league-worst defense?
We’re gonna return to the well this Sunday and hope for a different outcome. You can bet over 48 total points to be scored at -110 odds (bet $110 to win $100). It’s not great value, but it’s a much lower number than we were expecting.
The Packers’ offense only ranks 15th in points per game, but that can be attributed to their tough early-season schedule. Rodgers and Co. should have no trouble moving the ball against Washington’s underachieving defense.
On the flip side, Green Bay’s defense is nothing to write home about. They’re without a couple of big pieces, including Za’Darius Smith and Jaire Alexander, so a bounce back performance is definitely in the cards for Heinicke.
While Lambeau Field is a fortress, if the Old Dominion product can’t put up points against a middling Packers defense, it might be time to consider benching him. Sorry, but there’s far too many playmakers on the offense for it to not score at least 20 points this Sunday.

2. Terry McLaurin over 67.5 receiving yards (-112)
It seems impossible, but Terry McLaurin has just eight catches (on 19 targets) for 74 yards over his last two games.
In Week 5, folks looked at this stat line and just assumed former Ohio State teammate Marshon Lattimore locked him down. If you watched film, though, that was anything but the case. Taylor Heinicke actually missed McLaurin on a number of throws. Unfortunately, the same thing happened in Week 6.
It’s been heartbreaking to see McLaurin, a superstar talent, be limited by subpar quarterback play over the first three years of his career, but he’s continued to produce regardless of who’s called the shots under center.
McLaurin has two 100-yard games this season, and we like him to notch his third against a Packers secondary that’s without stud cornerback Jaire Alexander, who’s on injured reserve with an AC joint injury.
Alexander is one of a few lockdown CBs in the league, so McLaurin should have a field day this Sunday. Behind the 2020 Pro Bowler, the Packers have Eric Stokes, Kevin King and Rasul Douglas at cornerback. See what we’re saying?
If you need anymore convincing, McLaurin is due for a blow-up game after posting two duds (for his standards) in a row. At -112 odds (bet $112 to win $100), we love Scary Terry to eclipse 68 or more receiving yards with ease.

1. Aaron Jones anytime TD scorer (-120)
Washington’s passing defense has been so — how do we put this? — deplorable this season that it’s largely taken away from how the group has defended against the run. While their pass defense currently ranks dead-last, their run D ranks 19th in the NFL by allowing 113.5 yards per game.
Luckily for Washington (sarcasm), they’ll have the luxury of facing one of the most dynamic running backs the league has to offer in Aaron Jones on Sunday. Through six games, Jones has 385 yards and two touchdowns on 4.3 yards per carry.
Not the start Packers fans were expected after he finished fourth in rushing (1,104 yards), fifth in yards per carry (5.5) and 11th in TDs (nine) a season ago. However, that can be attributed to Aaron Rodgers accounting for 14 scores (12 passing, two rushing) and backup AJ Dillon logging 49 rushes thus far.
It’s an admittedly confounding game plan from Green Bay, and fans have expressed their frustration with Jones not being used like a bell-cow. With that being said, though, we like the Pro Bowl RB to find the end zone this Sunday.
There’s no reason to overthink this. Jones is typically a touchdown machine. In fact, he totaled 39 scores (33 rushing) over the last three seasons. Look for him to get back on track in the TD department vs Washington.
