5. Special Teams chemistry is a major question mark.

Tress Way and Dustin Hopkins have worked with the same snapper for virtually their entire careers. This year, Cameron Cheeseman was drafted to replace long-time long snapper Nick Sundberg. Will the kickers develop a solid chemistry with the rookie, or will the specialists struggle?

Similarly, Deshazor Everett has missed all of training camp so far. He’s been the special teams captain for years in Washington. If his sustained absence ends up costing him a roster spot, who will fill in the key roles he’s played for that unit? With the kick and punt returner battle clearly raging, that is a lot of unknowns for a special teams unit that will be heavily relied on by a defensively-minded football team this season.

While none of these questions are garnering a lot of headlines, they will have real and significant impact on the overall success of the Washington Football Team this season. Only time will tell whether that impact is positive or negative.
