Round 6: Camaron Cheeseman, Long Snapper, Michigan

Be honest.  After this selection, how many of you wanted to order cheeseburgers, cheese pizzas, colby jack cheese cubes, and cheesecakes from your favorite food delivery service?  Yours truly is guilty as charged.

The first question is the most obvious of all.  What is his nickname?  Also, will he be honored with a nickname from Washington Football Team fans?  Simply put, Cam Cheeseman has quickly become a fan favorite and it has everything to do with his unique last name.

Lighthearted moments aside, it may seem unusual to draft a long snapper in any round.  Why not wait until later in the day and sign one as an undrafted free agent? Well, Washington needed a long snapper and Cheeseman was one of the best prospects available.

Washington made an interesting trade during the fifth round and it probably angered some fans.  The front office traded a 2022 fifth-round selection to the Eagles for this sixth-round pick (225th overall) and a seventh-rounder (240th overall) in this draft.  Thus far, the trade was probably worth it.

Verdict:  Drafting kickers, punters, and long snappers is rare, but teams will turn in the card for the right player.  The Washington Football Team deserves praise for the trade and the draft choice.
