2021 3-round NFL mock draft: Washington Football Team adds a QB

24. Pittsburgh Steelers: Alabama OT Alex Leatherwood
At the moment, the Steelers’ starters at tackle next season might be Chukwuma Okorafor and Zach Banner. I’m not doubting the Steelers’ ability to develop offensive line talent. They’ve proven they can do that. However, I’d want more security and top-end talent in that room, especially when the entire offense is so dependent on a properly-functioning line.
Here at No. 24, Alex Leatherwood might seem like a bit of a reach. Having said that, I think he’s been slept on a bit throughout the entire draft process. He wasn’t perfect at the Senior Bowl, but he tested very well athletically, and he offers one of the largest wingspans in this class. Being a long-term starter for Alabama, Leatherwood has the experience and the physical traits necessary to hit the ground running for a competing Pittsburgh team.
