The Jaguars already have a lot of skill-position weapons on offense, so they can focus on the defensive side of the ball here. They could use an upgrade at cornerback to pair long-term with C.J. Henderson and Horn is one of the best players available here.
Much of the attention entering the year was on Gamecocks corner Israel Mukuama, but it was Horn that proved to be the better of the two defensive backs this year. Horn logged 16 tackles and two interceptions in seven games and was generally solid in coverage.
Horn has a solid 6-foot-1, 205-pound frame and should hold up well in the NFL. Physicality will be his friend as his straight-line speed is lacking a bit. He’ll need to work out well this offseason to quell those speed concerns, but his play speed was good enough to get by.
Pairing Horn with the hyper-athletic Henderson would allow the Jaguars to matchup with a variety of body types at the receiver position and would upgrade their secondary, which is the weakest part of their defense as it stands.
The Jaguars could add more talent to their offensive line to protect Trevor Lawrence here. They could also choose to add to their pass rush or linebacker corps, but Horn is among the best prospects available here, unless the Jaguars prefer a defensive back like Jevon Holland or Rodarius Williams.
