Stud: TE Logan Thomas

Let’s be honest. We all knew it was completely ridiculous that Evan Engram was voted to the Pro Bowl over Logan Thomas. Engram may be the bigger name at the position, but Thomas has been one of the top tight ends in the NFC this season.

Thomas proved his value to Washington in their game against the Eagles, and it was particularly evident at the end of the first half.

With Washington trailing 14-10 and less than a minute on the clock in the first half, Thomas made one of the catches of the season. He ran into the end-zone on the play and was well-covered by linebacker T.J. Edwards. However, despite this, Thomas was able to use his huge 6-foot-5 to elevate over Edwards and make the play.

Here’s a look at the go-ahead score, via the Washington Football Team’s Twitter account.

Wow. Just, wow. That’s an amazing play from Thomas and while Alex Smith deserves some serious credit for the perfect throw on that play, Thomas being able to get up, make that catch, and survive contact with the defender and the ground was unbelievable. That was truly a game-changing moment for Washington as it handed them momentum going into the second half.

Thomas finished the day with three catches for 37 yards, but his TD grab was truly the make-or-break moment for the Washington offense. He played well and continued his incredible breakout season.

The Pro Bowl can have Engram if they want. But give me Thomas every day of the week. The 29-year-old has been such a revelation for the Washington Football Team.
