Washington Football Team Dud: OT Morgan Moses

Morgan Moses has mostly been a stalwart for the Washington offensive line this year, finding success at right tackle and left tackle this year. However, he didn’t have a good day against the Seahawks, and that resulted in Dwayne Haskins being under a lot of pressure.

Of course, this wasn’t entirely Moses’ fault. He played through a tough injury that he suffered in the second half that really impacted his ability to do anything on the field. He looked a step slower after the injury, but Washington opted to keep using him because of their lacking offensive line depth. That was part of the reason that Haskins was under a lot of pressure late in the game from the right side.

In particular, Moses getting bulled over during the last drive at one point and that resulted in a sack of Haskins. It was one of the back-to-back sacks that set up a fourth-and-24 for Washington in the must-score drive, so that was definitely one of the lowlights of the day for him.

One of the reasons that Moses had done well this season was because he had been able to stay healthy, so his injury and subsequent performance following it are massive causes for concern for Washington. Hopefully, he’ll be able to get 100 percent healthy before the team’s next game, as he has been, arguably, the team’s best offensive lineman when healthy.

And Moses’ injury is, obviously, no fault of his own. Had he stayed healthy, we probably wouldn’t be talking much about him. Either way, when he looks back at this season, this will be one of the few games that Moses wants to forget, and it was definitely his worst outing of the season. Just because there’s a reason for his performance doesn’t make it any less of a dud.
