Washington Football Team Stud: TE Logan Thomas

The transformation of Logan Thomas is complete. He has become a dynamic starter at tight end for Washington, and while he is still raw at the position, he is absolutely getting the job done for the team.

Against the Seahawks, Thomas was the top target during the game for Dwayne Haskins. He was targeted 15 times and caught 13 passes for 101 yards. He consistently moved the chains and used his athletic ability to get open. That allowed Washington to get going on offense; he was a big reason for that spark.

It was always assumed that Haskins in his second year would rely more on his tight end room, as he had enjoyed utilizing slot men over the middle of the field last year. That didn’t come to fruition early in the season, as Thomas was still rounding into form as a starter, but now, with Thomas having more experience in an expanded role, that dream is being realized.

As long as Thomas is getting open and catching passes, he will be a safety valve for the Washington offense thanks to his size. He showcased his ceiling against Seattle and the fact that he is becoming more consistent is a big deal.

Right now, Thomas is probably the second-best pass-catcher on the Washington Football Team. And that’s not an insult to the team as it may have been early in the season. He has truly developed into a solid starter and teams will need to start planning to stop them because if they don’t, like Seattle did, he will make them pay.
