Final key numbers

2-0: Call it the magic of the white-on-white uniforms, but they seem to be working. After wearing the color scheme for the first time all season against Pittsburgh, Washington pulled them out again. Same uniforms, same results. Hopefully, this trend continues to work in their favor.

6-2: Coach Rivera has stressed that playing mistake-free football will lead to wins. Well, he wasn’t lying. Washington is 6-2 when they win the turnover differential in games this season. During their four-game winning streak, Washington is +5 in turnover differential.

10/25/1992: That’s the date Washington last won a game on the road without scoring an offensive touchdown. In other words, it’s been a very long time. That team was led by Mark Rypien, Earnest Byner, Art Monk, and Ricky Sanders. That was years before Antonio Gibson, Chase Young, Terry McLaurin, and Montez Sweat were born.

10-5: Washington has a 10-5 record in games that Alex Smith starts, which is pretty similar to Smith’s winning percentage during his Chiefs’ career (50-26). In spite of his stats, Smith somehow finds a way to lead his team to victory.

With the win over the Niners, there is only one team remaining in the NFL that Smith hasn’t beaten, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Washington was outplayed in the majority of statistical categories, but the one thing that they weren’t outplayed in was effort. At the end of the day, the scoreboard read 23-15 and Washington shored up first place in the NFC East.

The one number that matters more than any other is 64 percent. That is Washington’s odds to make the playoffs, which has increased more than 52 percent over the past five weeks.

Maybe Bruce Allen was a prophet, because it sure looks like this team has a damn good culture.
