Washington Football Team Stud: CB Kendall Fuller

For the third consecutive week, Kendall Fuller made a big play. Against the Ravens in Week 4, he had two key interceptions that set up two scores, 10 points, for Washington. Last week against the Rams, Fuller was able to grab another interception.

But all of those plays came in games that Washington wasn’t really in. When Fuller made his pick on Sunday, it came at a time that the team desperately needed it. The Giants were up three and had just driven 73 yards down the field and were threatening to score. A touchdown would’ve put the game effectively out of reach.

Fuller knew this when he leaped up to intercept a pass that Daniel Jones lobbed over the head of Darius Slayton. It’s unclear if Jones just misfired or if he was trying to throw it away, but either way, the ball was catchable for Fuller.

Fuller extended fully and managed to catch the ball and get his knee down in the end-zone to secure the interception. It was upheld after review. It was a brilliant play and an excellent effort from Fuller to make the play, and that set up what would be the game-tying drive from Washington.

In three games, Fuller now has four interceptions. He leads the NFL and is Washington’s best player in the secondary by far. You could even make a case for him as the defense’s best player, and that’s exactly what he was on Sunday. He deserves praise for what he has done and he was certainly a stud against the Giants.
