No. 5 – QB Kyle Allen

No one’s saying he made a bid for MVP or anything, but Kyle Allen looked better than both Dwayne Haskins and Alex Smith in his limited time as the Washington Football Team’s starting quarterback on Sunday.

Allen finished the day 9 of 13 for just 74 yards, and moving forward, Washington’s offense has to do whatever it can to add more vertical elements. But from a pure operational perspective, Allen showed tangible improvements. He was more mechanically sound and less skittish, and he also displayed the ability to extend plays and move in the pocket amidst pressure.

Allen will have to keep building on his play if Washington wants to make something out of the approaching easy stretch in the schedule, but Ron Rivera looks like he wants to try to win, and as of right now, Allen gives the Washington Football Team the best chance to win. If he can be the better quarterback on Sunday, Washington has a good chance.
