Positive and Negative No. 5

Positive No. 5

The fifth positive for this week is you, the fans.  The long-suffering fans who endure the trials and tribulations each and every single day with this franchise.

You follow the Washington Football Team closely and faithfully.  You have recently gone through an offseason with no organized team activities (OTA) or mini-camps.  Each year, you deal with the realities of major roster changes.  You endure coaching changes all too often.  You suffer through team calamities on a continual basis.  And you are currently experiencing the agonies of a team name change.

You understand that this team rebuild will take up to three years and that means more heartaches and headaches.  It seems so unfair, but the patience we all must go through will be rewarded.  Better days are ahead and when the victories are flowing and team titles are achieved, your reward will be complete.

Negative No. 5

We now come to the fifth negative and it is not an easy one to talk about at this time:  Dwayne Haskins.  There was a strong rumor that Haskins celebrated his stats in the locker room after the blowout loss versus the Ravens.  Teammates were reportedly angry with Haskins and some suggested as much on social media.  Yes, it is a rumor, but it seems to have some merit, and our own Ian Cummings addressed it before the Rams game.

In that tweet, you can see the Jason La Canfora article and it strongly suggests that Haskins will be traded soon.  Yes, the situation has become toxic and a trade is likely the right call – the sooner, the better.

Final Thoughts

The positives this week are very little.  The negatives are too numerous.  No one has ever said that a rebuild is fun, but we must realize that painful moments will continue for the foreseeable future.  Constant negativity will not solve anything.  Fan recognition for this rebuild is needed and we should realize that all blueprints for sustained success involve loyal support from the fans.

Next. Why the Washington Football Team should not tank. dark

We’ll return next week after the Giants game for five more positives and negatives.
