No. 1 – Dwayne Haskins breaks 300 passing yards for first time ever

Use whatever word you want: Skittish, over-conservative, inconsistent, out-of-sync — they all can describe Dwayne Haskins so far in 2020.

The second-year signal caller came into 2020 with high expectations, and while he has succeeded in preventing turnovers on offense, he’s failed thus far to help generate consistency, and his Washington offense is one of the worst in the league at sustaining drives.

Not all of that is Haskins’ fault, but the quarterback has plenty to improve upon; the first two games have seen him execute sloppily, and even Ron Rivera acknowledged in his last press conference that Haskins, while improving mentally, has a lot to work on in the mechanics department.

Call me optimistic, but I think we see Haskins start to get things together in Week 3. It won’t be a mistake-free performance, and losing Brandon Scherff will hurt, but against the Browns’ shoddy linebacker and secondary units, Haskins should be able to find seams in the defense, and with Terry McLaurin hitting his stride, the entire offense could open up.

I’ve got Haskins hitting the 300-yard mark for the first time in his NFL career. And if he doesn’t get that, I’ve got 250 yards as my consolation prediction. I’m allowed to have those, because my primary predictions usually don’t work out.
