1. Logan Thomas leads Washington in targets, catches TD, throws TD

Can Logan Thomas continue to be the top target for Dwayne Haskins? It certainly seems possible.

In Week 1 against the Eagles, Thomas was targeted a team-high eight times and reeled in four passes for 37 yards and a TD. Terry McLaurin was close behind him in terms of total targets, but because he dealt with the attention of Darius Slay, he was limited to five catches on seven targets for 61 yards.

McLaurin has another tough matchup on Sunday with Patrick Peterson, who is still a strong starting cornerback as he enters his age-30 season. Because of this, McLaurin may not be able to get open for double-digit targets, so while Haskins will still certainly look his way, he may ultimately settle on targets over the middle of the field, like Thomas, more frequently.

It also helps that Arizona struggled to cover tight ends last year. Their 16 TDs allowed to the position group was, far and away, the most in the NFL and though they limited George Kittle to four catches and 44 yards in Week 1, that was more about an injury to Kittle before halftime than anything else.

As such, Thomas can take advantage of this matchup and Haskins should look his way frequently. Don’t be surprised to see Thomas catch a touchdown and lead the team in targets. And just to add some extra boldness to this prediction, we’ll call a passing TD for the former quarterback as well.

After all, the Cardinals drafted him to play that position. So, it would be nice to show them what they’re missing out on at this point in the 29-year-old’s NFL career.
