Five Redskins breakout candidates for the 2020 NFL season
3. TE Thaddeus Moss
It feels weird putting a rookie on this list but seeing as how Moss wasn’t drafted and isn’t (as of now) projected to be the starting tight end, I think its appropriate to include him on the list.
The son of NFL great Randy Moss (as if you aren’t sick of hearing that by now) Thaddeus played a major role in LSU’s historic season. Moss was a solid pass catcher who managed 47 receptions for 570 yards and didn’t have a single drop. He helped lead the team to a perfect 15-0 record and a National Championship.
Moss will come in and have a real chance to compete for the starting job in Washington. His primary competition will be journeyman Logan Thomas, who has two touchdowns in five NFL seasons and never has had 20 catches in a season, and Jeremy Sprinkle, who started 13 games for the Redskins last year and managed only 26 catches and four drops.
The undrafted rookie has a real chance to come in and be the guy in the tight end spot that Dwayne Haskins frequently targeted during his rookie season.
