Last five (and bonus)

Detroit Lions: DE Trey Flowers, 26. Flowers is a beast, not so much fast as explosive. A run defender who is also a consistent pass rusher. And I suspect that in his second Matt Patricia, who previously coached him in New England, he will only continue to get better. I really hope the ‘Skins have the left tackle spot figured out by the time they play Detroit.

Los Angeles Rams: TE Tyler Higbee, 27. Do you know what Higbee put up in his last five games of 2019? Yardage totals of 107, 116, 111, 104, and 84. Yes, you read that right. That’s more yards in five games than all the Redskins’ tight ends totaled for the entire year. With Gurley and Cooks gone, there are even more yards to be had in L.A.

Pittsburgh Steelers: WRs James Washington, 24, and Dionte Johnson, 23. A twofer. Both these guys are scary. Johnson is a little quicker. Washington, a little stronger. Both can run. And this year, they won’t have the Mason-Devlin Line throwing to them. This year, it’s Big Ben.

San Francisco 49ers: WR Deebo Samuel, 24. There are just three words to describe Samuel. OMG!  Actually, I’m not sure If that counts as three words, or just one. And fun fact – did you know that OMG can also mean “Outlaw Motorcycle Gang?” And that may be easier to slow down than Deebo Samuel.

Seattle Seahawks: WR DK Metcalf, 22. I had him on my fantasy team last year, and I am a loyal owner.

dark. Next. Potential Redskins special teams contributors for 2020

It should be fun to watch these guys and how the Redskins plan to slow them down. And to any Cowboys, Giants, or Eagles fans out there, please don’t take anything personally. I kid only because of my decades-long hatred of the teams you love.
