59. . Quarterback. Miami Dolphins. Justin Herbert. 5. player

The Dolphins seem to like both of the top quarterback prospects on the board fairly equally. Even if the Los Angeles Chargers jump up to the No. 3 spot with the Lions, the Dolphins will still be able to land one of the quarterback prospects, barring another team trading up to the No. 4 spot.

For that reason, it seems like their less likely to move up as they can likely land one by staying put.

And right now, Justin Herbert may be the favorite in Miami. It’s hard to tell what their exact thoughts on the situation are, but Herbert has prototypical 6-foot-6 size, a strong arm, good mobility, and four years of starting experience at Oregon. He’s coming off a season that saw him complete 66.8 percent of his passes for 3,471 yards, 32 touchdowns, and six interceptions while adding four scores on the ground.

Herbert does have some concerns. He didn’t deliver in big moments for the Ducks and he’ll have to improve in that area moving forward. He also needs to improve his ball placement a bit and get more comfortable trusting himself to make throws. He reads the field well, so if he can improve his ball placement and not overthink things, he should get better at the next level.

In Miami, Herbert would have a chance to emerge as the team’s franchise quarterback, but with Ryan Fitzpatrick in the fold, he won’t be rushed into action. He can be given time to develop as the Dolphins accelerate their rebuild and add pieces around Herbert. They have two more picks in the first round, so their offense will look a lot different by the end of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Tua Tagovailoa will also be considered here. But the Chargers may move up to get him and even if both are on the board, Miami may go with Herbert solely because of Tagovailoa’s injury concerns.
