Start of Round 3

This is only a full-NFL two-round mock, but since the Redskins pick at the beginning of Round 3, here’s a little bonus content to cap things off, just in case you were worried about the Redskins leaving the draft with Jeremy Sprinkle and Logan Thomas as their tight ends.

65. Cincinnati Bengals: Ohio State OL Jonah Jackson

There are a lot of ways the Cincinnati Bengals can go with this pick, but seeing as how they just drafted their franchise quarterback, investing in his protection is a good idea. Ohio State’s Jonah Jackson has a high floor as a blocker, and could factor into the starting equation at right guard.

66. Washington Redskins: Purdue TE Brycen Hopkins

This Redskins pick came down to either Purdue TE Brycen Hopkins or Notre Dame TE Cole Kmet for me. Watching them on tape, Kmet is an impressively explosive athlete with dominant size, but Hopkins, at 6-foot-4, 245, is much more fluid as a mover, and he brings more route nuance and body control at the catch point. Hopkins’ athletic profile, combined with his more easily reconcilable flaws, made the difference here, as the Redskins finally get a reliable tight end target for Dwayne Haskins.
