Post-free agency full NFL two-round mock: Redskins trade down
By Ian Cummings
Picks 61-64
61. Tennessee Titans: Dayton TE Adam Trautman
The Titans could go with an offensive tackle here, but they seem to have a lot of confidence in Daniel Kelly’s ability as a potential starter. Thus, Adam Trautman, a physical tight end who tested historically well in agility drills, earns the second-round selection.
62. Green Bay Packers: Oregon LB Troy Dye
The Packers added Christian Kirksey in free agency, and believe they made an underrated move in doing so, but they shouldn’t rest on that move with their linebacking core. There’s still room to add a linebacker with coverage upside, and Oregon’s Troy Dye has the elite athleticism at 6-foot-3, 231, to provide that.
63. Kansas City Chiefs (via SF): Connecticut OT Matthew Peart
If you’re the Kansas City Chiefs, you can afford to draft for the future a bit, to ensure that you extend your current contention window for as long as possible. With elite offensive tackle Mitchell Schwartz turning 31 years old this offseason, and with Eric Fisher having just two years left on his contract, it’s not a bad idea to pick up a high-upside tackle like Matthew Peart, and develop him with the vast allotment of resources at his disposal.
64. Seattle Seahawks (via KC): Ohio State CB Damon Arnette
The Seahawks cornerback situation is relatively unstable. Shaquill Griffin is one of the game’s up-and-coming young cornerbacks, but is in a contract year, and there are no surefire starter around him. Adding a cornerback with a nice blend of experience and athleticism in Damon Arnette would be a good move for the Seahawks, who are trying to get right back to competing in 2020.
